Care instructions are to rinse or wash the metal bin well by hand, and not put the outer metal bin in the dishwasher. The filters should not be washed, but changed every 3-6 months depending on usage. The plastic inner bucket, however, is dishwasher safe.

One Charcoal Filter is included, which helps to trap smells inside and prevent things from getting in.
